About Me
Hi, I’m Brandon Beach, a junior full-stack software developer for building clean, scalable, and secure web applications. I recently completed my Bachelor’s degree for Software Engineering, where I honed my skills in full-stack development using Angular, Spring Boot, and MySQL. I also began exploring cloud deployment using AWS and picked up foundational DevOps practices such as environment variable management and basic debugging.
My capstone project gave me hands-on experience with deploying a real-world application and helped me understand how different pieces of a tech stack come together. It also sparked my curiosity about scalable architecture and secure authentication — areas I’m excited to keep learning about.
My approach to development is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. I enjoy dissecting complex problems and crafting creative, efficient solutions.
As an avid gamer, I bring a similar mindset to development. Whether I’m leveling up a character or debugging a new feature, I thrive on the process of improvement through iteration, strategy, and persistence. To me, every project feels like a new level to conquer—full of puzzles to solve, skills to sharpen, and the occasional “cheat code” to discover.

Development Journey
My path into software engineering has been shaped by hands-on learning, personal projects, and a drive to build meaningful tools. Coming from a background in financial operations, I've developed a strong foundation in accuracy, data integrity and process analysis - skills that translate directly into thoughtful, reliable software development.
Transitioning Through Projects
I began my journey by building small tools to solve personal problems, gradually expanding into full-stack applications. My capstone project, a Personal Finance Tracker, was designed to reflect both my technical growth and my professional background. It included features like savings goals, transaction tracking, and mock investment insights, built using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and MySQL, and deployed on AWS.
Building Muscle Memory
To deepen my understanding of web development, I created a responsive portfolio site from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This project helped me solidify layout techniques, animation principles, and DOM manipulation, while reinforcing version control practices with Git.
Exploring New Ideas
I’ve also explored mobile development through an Android Vacation Planner app, and I’m planning a custom mind map and note-taking tool to support my learning. These projects reflect my curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement.
Transferable Skills from Finance
In my current role as a Vault Reconciliation Analyst, I’ve honed skills in:
- Data validation
- Process optimization
- Attention to detail under pressure
- Cross-functional communication
These experiences have shaped how I approach software — with precision, clarity, and a focus on solving real-world problems.
